Tour Itinerary
Sunday 14th December: Arrive in Delhi.
On arrival at Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport, after clearing immigrations and customs you will be met by our local representative and will be transferred to The Maidens Hotel. Since it is an early arrival, rooms will be held from the previous night for immediate check in. After some welcome drinks and refreshing towels, you can check in to your rooms and relax. After a late breakfast, the rest of the morning is at leisure.
In the afternoon, we will leave on a sightseeing tour of New Delhi and visit the Humayan’s Tomb, Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar. We will drive past Parliament Street, Embassy Area, India Gate and the President’s House, and also visit the Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandini Chowk. You will also get the opportunity to enjoy a rickshaw ride. After the tour, we will return back to the hotel.
Monday 15th December: Travel from Delhi to Jaipur (255kms/5hrs)
After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and set out on our journey to Jaipur, with a comfort stop en-route. Upon reaching Jaipur, we will check in to The Jaipur Trident Hotel. In the afternoon, we will set out on a sightseeing of Jaipur, where we will visit the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Albert Hall Museum and Birla Temple. We will drive past Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal and The Pink City. Later, in the evening, we will visit a local home for high tea, where you will be able to interact with the locals and get to know about their way of life.
A complete and fulfilling experience of the Rajasthan tour can be gained by visiting and witnessing the routine of a traditional family in the city of Rajasthan, providing an insight into the beautiful and colourful culture here. When guests arrive at a home, a traditional welcome will be given with Aarti, Garland & Tikka. Family members will be home and you can talk with them and discuss lifestyles, culture and customs, plus learn how to tie and wear traditional Indian dress like saris and turbans. It really is a fascinating experience!
After high tea, we will return back to the hotel.
Tuesday 16th December: Travel from Jaipur to Agra (245kms/5hrs)
After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the Amber Fort by elephant and Jeep - from the base to the fort. Later, we will proceed to Agra, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri en-route to visit the Diwan-e-Khas, Panch Mahal, The Tomb of Salim Chisti and the Buland Darwaza. On arrival in Agra, we will check into The Agra Trident Hotel, then in the evening, we will visit the Taj Mahal, the magnificent monument of love.
Wednesday 17th December: Travel from Agra to Delhi (260kms/5hrs), then fly to Mumbai
After breakfast, visit we will visit the Agra Fort and Diwan-E-Khaas, including the Pearl Mosque within. After this, we will set out on our journey to Delhi, where we will go directly to Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport to catch our flight to Mumbai.
Flight: 9W362. Depart Delhi - 1725. Arrive Mumbai - 1920
On arrival in Mumbai, you will be met by our local representative and transferred direct to The Hotel Fariyas, where you can check in.
Thursday 18th December: Mumbai
After breakfast, you have the option of a city tour of Mumbai. This will include a drive past the Asiatic Library (old Town Hall) past the stretch of Marine Drive, also called the Queen's Necklace. We will visit the Jain Temple, followed by a visit to Hanging Gardens and the Kamla Nehru Park. We will drive past the Parsi Towers of Silence to the Dhobi Ghat, the open-air laundry. We will visit Mani Bhavan, a museum that was previously the residence of Mahatma Gandhi. Thereafter, we will drive through the business districts of South Mumbai passing by monuments built during the British era, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (Victoria Terminus), Mumbai University, High Court and the Prince of Wales Museum. Before returning to the hotel, we will make a brief photo stop at the Gateway of India.
The remainder of the day is free for you to spend at your leisure.
Friday 19th - Tuesday 23rd December: India v England Test Match at the Brabourne Stadium
Each day after breakfast, you will be transferred to Brabourne Stadium for the Test match. After each day’s play, you will be transferred back to the hotel.
Tuesday 23rd December
In the evening, after the cricket, we will check out of the hotel at approximately 2230 and transfer to Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport for the flight back to Heathrow Airport.
