On arrival in Mumbai, you will be met by your tour manager and transferred to your hotel, where you will check in.
Mumbai is the vibrant and pulsating capital of Maharashtra. For over a century, Mumbai has been a commercial and industrial centre of India with a magnificent harbour, imposing multi-storied buildings, crowded thoroughfares, busy markets, shopping centers and beautiful tourist spots. The British acquired Mumbai from the Portuguese in 1665 and handed it over to the East India Company in 1671 for a handsome annual rent of Sterling Pounds 10 in Gold! Later, these seven islands were joined together by causeways and bridges in 1862.
Rest of the day at leisure...
You are invited to join your tour manager and the rest of your tour group for welcome drinks in the evening. This will be an ideal chance for you to get to know your fellow Howzat Travellers ahead of the first day of the second Test the next morning.
Friday 23rd - Tuesday 27th November
Each day after breakfast at the hotel, we will walk to the Wankhede Stadium to witness the second Test match between India and England. After each day's play, we will make our own way back to the hotel.
Wednesday 28th November
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for our flight to Goa. Or alternatively, head off on the 'Golden Triangle' Sightseeing option. See below for more details.
On arrival in Goa, transfer to the hotel and check in.
Goa conjures up a land of scenic beauty with abundant sun, sand and sea. Lying on the west coast, half way between Mumbai in the North and Cochin in the south, Goa was under Portuguese rule until 1961 and hence has a very striking and interesting atmosphere. Sleepy villages and myriads of white churches still characterize this lotus-eaters paradise, where the romance of the past lingers on and the mood is as gentle and unhurried as the undulating countryside. There are paddy fields and dense coconut palm groves and market places that are lively and colourful affairs! Goa is famous for its beaches where one can lap up the sun and swim in the sapphire blue waters.
Thursday 29th November - Monday 3rd December
Every day is at leisure - to relax, however you wish.
Optional sightseeing in Goa also available, if you wish;
Morning proceed for city tour of Old Goa .St Cathedral – The largest church in Asia, is a mighty 16th century monument to the Roman Catholic rule of Goa under the Portuguese. Its huge Golden Bell is the biggest in the world. It has 14 side chapels; the last chapel, in Mauresque style, preserves a cross upon which a vision of Christ is said to have appeared in 1919.
Bom Jesus Basilica – Partially in ruins but awesome still, it is a fine example of Jesuit architecture. The church's most precious relic is the embalmed body of St. Francis Xavier entombed in a marble mausoleum presented by the Duke of Tuscany, who received the Saint's pillow in exchange. Once every 10 years, the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier are exposed for public veneration. It was last exposed in 1994.
One of the most celebrated and therefore most visited of Goa temples is dedicated to Sri Mangesh or Lord Shiva, the cosmic power of Perfection. A beautiful legend surrounding the name of the Lord tells how the Goddess Parvati, Shiva's consort, came to Goa in search of her divine spouse, who had left her alone in their mountainous home after a disagreement. Seeing her, Shiva took the form of a tiger, whereupon Parvati cried aloud: thrahi mam girisha! - O save me, Lord of the mountains - thereby seeking refuge in her lord. The words mam girisha transmuted to Mangesh. Thousands of believers come here annually, to take refuge in the great Lord Shiva, as Parvati had done.
Tuesday 4th December
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for our flight to Kolkata. On arrival in Kolkata, transfer to the hotel and check in.
Kolkata was the capital of India during the British Raj. Today, it is referred to as the intellectual capital of the country. Some of the best-built buildings in India are the colonial buildings in Kolkata. This makes Kolkata, unlike any other city of India, a unique hub of culture and heritage. There are many monuments dating back to the period of British Raj that are landmarks of Kolkata today and also give the city its pride. From a mere village in the 17th century, Kolkata has become a throbbing metropolis, but unlike Delhi, it is not an ancient city. Like Mumbai and Chennai, it originated largely due to the expansionist ambitions of the European powers, particularly the British Raj.
Rest of the day at leisure...
OR suggested sightseeing;

Later visit the temple dedicated to Kali - the demonic attribute of Parvathi at Kalighat. Drive past Fort William, the Dalhousie Square and the Writer’s Building. Also visit the Missionaries of Charity, the home of the Late Mother Teresa.
