On arrival in Kolkata, you will be met by your tour manger and transferred to your hotel, where you will check in.
Kolkata was the capital of India during the British Raj. Today, it is referred to as the intellectual capital of the country. Some of the best-built buildings in India are the colonial buildings in Kolkata. This makes Kolkata, unlike any other city of India, a unique hub of culture and heritage. There are many monuments dating back to the period of British Raj that are landmarks of Kolkata today and also give the city its pride. From a mere village in the 17th century, Kolkata has become a throbbing metropolis, but unlike Delhi, it is not an ancient city. Like Mumbai and Chennai, it originated largely due to the expansionist ambitions of the European powers, particularly the British Raj.

OR suggested sightseeing;
Early morning, visit the Flower Market and then take a boat ride down the Hooghly River. Later return to the hotel for breakfast.
Late morning proceed for a city tour of Kolkata. Visit the Victoria Memorial. Built by Lord Curzon to commemorate the Queen, it houses the memorabilia of the early days of the British Raj with its excellent chronology of the settlement and development of second city of empire.
Later visit the temple dedicated to Kali - the demonic attribute of Parvathi at Kalighat. Drive past Fort William, the Dalhousie Square and the Writer’s Building. Also visit the Missionaries of Charity, the home of the Late Mother Teresa.
Tuesday 11th December
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for our flight to Nagpur. On arrival in Nagpur, transfer to the hotel and check in.
Nagpur is the winter capital of the state of Maharashtra and third largest city in Maharashtra. Nagpur lies precisely at the centre of the country with the Zero Mile Marker indicating the geographical centre of India. The city was founded by the Gonds but later became part of the Maratha Empire under the Bhonsles. The British East India Company took over Nagpur in the 19th century and made it the capital of the Central Provinces and Berar. After the first re-organization of states, the city lost its capital status but according to the informal 'Nagpur Pact' between political leaders it was made the second capital of Maharashtra. Nagpur is also declared, 'Tiger Capital of India' as it connects many Tiger Reserves in India.
