The Kiwi Tour also includes the options to extend your tour at either end, to make the most of the opportunity to see more of stunning New Zealand. Before the Mt. Maunganui Test, head to the Bay of Islands to have a relaxing few days taking in some Maori sights, the beautiful scenery of the very north of the country, and a warm-up match in Whangarei. After the Hamilton Test, travel down to the South Island where Christchurch, Queenstown, Mount Cook and Milford Sound help make up this fantastic itinerary featuring some of the most breathtaking views in the world… you just have to BE THERE!

  • Tuesday 19th November – Arrive Auckland
    On arrival at Auckland International Airport, you will be met by your Tour Manager and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure, your Tour Manager and our local partners will be able to assist you with any activities you may wish to do. In the evening, you are invited to join your Tour Manager and the rest of your group for a welcome drink and an introduction to your tour. This will also be an ideal chance for you to meet your fellow Howzat Travellers.
  • Wednesday 20th November – Auckland/Mt Maunganui
    This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of the ‘City of Sails’. Highlights include the panoramic city and harbour views from Bastion Point; trendy Parnell Village; the lovely bays of the waterfront drive and the vibrant Viaduct Harbour area. The Sky Tower is the tallest tower in New Zealand, featuring four observation decks and a revolving restaurant. At the base, experience a visual encounter with Auckland’s history then step into the high-speed elevator and travel at high speed to the main observation deck. Stand on the glass floor and see Auckland at your feet – an amazing experience. Drive south through Auckland’s southern suburbs and over the Bombay Hills which form the southern boundary of the Auckland region. At Pokeno turn onto State Highway 2 and travel east across the fertile Hauraki Plains to Matamata then on to Tauranga and Mt Maunganui in the bountiful Bay of Plenty. (Travelling time approx. 4 hours) Upon arrival in Mt Maunganui, check-in to your hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure.
  • Thursday 21st – Monday 25th November – 1st New Zealand v England Test Match
    Each day after breakfast, transfer to the Bay Oval for the 1st Test Match between New Zealand and England. After the day’s play, return to your hotel.
  • Tuesday 26th November – Mt Maunganui/Rotorua
    After a leisurely start, today head inland past Lake Rotoiti to Rotorua (travelling time approx. 1 hour). Located in the heart of New Zealand’s famous thermal region, Rotorua forms part of the geologically active ‘Pacific Rim of Fire’. Situated on the shores of Lake Rotorua, it is also renowned for Maori cultural activities. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure.
  • Wednesday 27th November
    After breakfast at your hotel, visit the thermal area of Waiotapu, one of the world’s most colourful thermal areas. See the Artist’s Palette where different minerals form areas on the pool surface, view the tiny bubbles surfacing in the Champagne Pool and walk down alongside the silica terrace to see the Bridal Veil Falls as well as other thermal activity. Afternoon at leisure for your choice of activities. This evening visit Tamaki Maori Village for a Maori Cultural Experience and Hangi Dinner. Experience the warmth of the Maori people during an evening of ceremonial rituals, powerful cultural performance, storytelling & hangi feasting. Enter the pre-European Maori village, witness the earth being scraped carefully away from the hangi pit and enter their ancestral Meeting House to relax as their family entertain you with a powerful cultural performance before dining on the traditional hangi buffet dinner (Maori feast) cooked the traditional Maori way in an earth oven. Return hotel transfers included – other travellers will be on board.
  • Thursday 28th November – Rotorua/Hamilton
    After breakfast, transfer to Hamilton (travelling time approx. 2 hours) Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and enjoy an afternoon at leisure.
  • Friday 29th November – Tuesday 3rd December – 2nd New Zealand v England Test Match
    Each day after breakfast, transfer to Seddon Park for the 2nd Test Match between New Zealand and England. After the day’s play, return to your hotel.
  • Wednesday 4th December – Hamilton/Auckland
    After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Auckland International Airport for your one-stop flight back to the UK.
